I am one of those people that are curious when seeing a new skincare product… does it work? Are the adverts telling the truth? Does it really reduce your wrinkles?
I wanted to improve my skincare routine because it’s pretty non-existent. So I decided to have my skin scanned and put Murad to the test to see if their products could transform my skin.
My Current Routine
My current routine consists of showering every morning, cleansing and moisturising and then coming home and falling asleep. I wanted to improve on this as let’s face it; our skin is going to represent us for a very long time.
I have used Murad products before so I knew a little bit about them and their skincare range.
The Skin Scanner
I decided to have my skin scanned at Y Spa so I could find out my skin problem areas. Then use the recommended products over the course of 5 months, have my skin re-scanned and see how much my skin had improved.
At the skin scan Y Spa angel and skin care specialist, Lauren asked me to talk her through my current skincare routine and products I am using. This included Garnier Micellar Water, Murad Soothing Gel Cleanser and Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion. Lauren then took two pictures of the side of my face and set the skin scanner to work analysing it.
The scanned images show your problem areas and ranks them in order of concern. My scan flagged my highest concerns as wrinkles, pigmentation (caused by sun damage and environmental factors) and pores.
My Recommended Routine
Following the scan, Lauren recommended these products:
Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion to be used AM. This will help my skin maintain youthful collagen levels, plump skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
Murad Essential-C Daily Renewal Complex to be used PM. This product has been proven to reduce photodamage (exposure to sunlight) by 46% in just 4 weeks!
Lauren suggested adding Essential-C Day Moisturiser SPF 30 to my morning routine. This protects skin from environmental damage and improves hydration.
Instant Radiance Eye Cream to be used AM. To brighten, hydrate and decrease wrinkles and dark circles around my eye area.
Lauren also recommended the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliator Cleanser once a week. This helps to clear pores of dead skin cells and give the skin a polished feel.
I’m going to follow this routine for the next 5 months then have my skin re-scanned to check my progress. I will post again around mid-July to give you a progress update so check back then and see how I am getting on.
